THE HYDROLOGICAL CYCLE ( WATER CYCLE )

The earth has a limited amount of water, however the water keeps going around as it is being reused over and over again, the quantity of water on the Earth never changes, it simply changes form as it passes through what is known as the water cycle.

1.EVAPORATION

2.TRANSPIRATION

3.CONDENSATION

4.PRECIPITATION

5.RUNOFF

1.EVAPORATION.

When the sun heats up the ocean, rivers or lakes, the water droplet will gain heat and change its state from liquid to gas to becoe water vapour. This process is called evaportation.

2.TRANSPIRATION

Transpiration is somehow similiar to evaporation. for evaporation, ocean, rivers and lakes lose water however for transpirtion, plants lose water (from their stomata under the leaves).

3.CONDENSATION

When the water vapour in the air loses heat, it changes its state again from gas to liquid and become water droplet. This process forms cloud and is called condensation

4.PRECIPITATION

When the water droplet has gathered and is too heavy that the air is unable to hold it, precipitation happens. rian, hail, sleet or snow is all counted as precipitation.

5.RUNOFF

After precipitation, some water will be absorbed into the ground forming groundwater, these water will end in the ocean, while some of the water will run directly into rivers and streams.

here is another diagram to understand better!
